"This Is the Year We Finally Learn to Swim": Making It Stick

MAY 31, 2025·3 MIN READ

January is reliably one of our busier inquiry months, full of some version of "this is finally the year." It's a good instinct, and also exactly the kind of resolution that tends to fade by February if it isn't set up to stick.

Book the actual first lesson, not just the intention

A vague goal to "get the kids swimming this year" rarely survives a busy January. Booking a specific first lesson date, ideally within the first couple weeks of the year, is what actually separates resolutions that happen from ones that don't.

Pick a schedule you can actually keep in a normal week

An ambitious twice-a-week plan that quietly turns into never is far less useful than a realistic once-a-week slot that survives March, April, and beyond. Since lessons run year-round in Miami, there's no rush to cram progress into a short window, steady beats intense.

Make this the year it actually happens.
